This section details basic information about the criminal procedure of each Member State, which is provided by our participants. At the moment we are processing all the information. Currently this section details information of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom.

On the left you will find a menu listing all 27 EU Member States. Each participant has submitted information on the following topics.

If applicable, reference is also made to specific legislation and/or rules of procedure in EAW surrender cases. Furthermore, a short overview is provided of the criminal procedural system of each country.

Please note that in order to increase the readability of the information the term 'lawyer' will be used as a general term to refer to criminal defence lawyers, defence counsel, etc.
If in a criminal procedural law system a specific term is used, such as barrister and solicitor in the U.K., this will be mentioned in the specific section of that country.
